Online ISTA provides BMW's factory diagnostic environment for fault finding. BMW AOS also gives independent workshops access to manufacturer applications and technical documentation.

As an independent BMW specialist, we can adapt our approach to fault finding. We complement manufacturer procedures with our own measurements and, where needed, specially developed diagnostic modules.
If the vehicle's fault calls for it, we develop our own diagnostic module for the task.

SIL / MSD80

The MSD80 module is one example of our in-house SIL diagnostics. The demo shows changes across four views together.
Running smoothness
Shows how the running smoothness of individual cylinders changes.
Engine speed
Actual engine speed and the DME idle-speed target can be displayed in one view.
Per-cylinder correction
The CILC view allows changes in per-cylinder corrections to be compared.
Operating mode
Shows when the controller switches between homogeneous and stratified operation.
We assess the charts together, in the context of operating conditions and physical measurements. This helps us choose the next targeted test.
